Anne Baxter, Jeff Chandler, and Rory Calhoun star in this 1955 adventure set during the 1898 gold rush in Nome, Alaska, where miners find their legitimate claims threatened by corruption and claim jumpers.

About the Film

As miners in Nome grow increasingly frustrated by attempts to steal their gold claims, new gold commissioner Alex McNamara assures them that Judge Stillman is on his way to review the legal disputes. But many of the miners are ready to settle matters the old-fashioned way—with a gun.

Local mine owner Roy Glennister returns to Nome and is reunited with Cherry Malotte, the owner of the local saloon and gambling house. Their relationship is complicated by Roy's attention toward fellow passenger Helen Chester.

Roy and Cherry soon discover that Judge Stillman and his legal team are phony, McNamara is corrupt, and Roy and his mining partner Dextry are in danger of losing their mine to fraudulent claimants.
